Do you know what these are? They are numbered nails that used to be pounded into railroad ties to indicate a date they were installed or serviced.
Each nail has an interesting raised two digit number on the head corresponding with a year. They are very heavy duty and perfect for your collection or incorporation into a jewelry or other assemblage project!
Most nails appear to be in unused condition and came from a collection. Numbers range from around the 20's through the 70's. Wear and patina as well as number style may vary but all are really cool pieces.
Some numbers are raised and some are indented into nail head
They measure about 2.5" long. sizes may vary slightly
